Its like the stars have
Fallen from the sky
And landed
On the surface of the ocean
And that ocean, frozen
Mid wave.
While the stars proceed to sparkle
A landscape of fireflies
A vast expanse
Easing my eyes toward
Accepting the fallen angels
Frozen in the sea.
Your shadow
Slips, slowly
A finger, then a smile,
I wait
I wonder
When the first crow rose
& broke the silence of the dawn announcing
Your escape.
Return
Deep, in this fading darkness
I know
The taste of something too sweet
Just right
And creeping along
On our moonless night
And my song
And your song
And our song
Was the song on repeat
In the bar I will never set foot in again.
